Its something we will probably not get a good feel of as all our illegal immigrants are given some caning and deported back where they came from.  Not to mention no such thing as humanitarian refugee. Even FT coming in is already a sensitive issue here.

Indeed very exciting times. Trump is trying to expand American army and continue superpower dominance though, not sure if he will succeed.

Russian economy will back to crap again if oil price drop further, they need oil$$ for their military expansion.

China is having big trouble cleaning house now, fake GDP, housing bubble, financial system clampdowns, frauds, corruption, pollution, aging population, not sure how much economic power they will end up having if their shift to consumerism fails and end up Japan 2.0 as I always prattle on about. Very uncomfortable with their nuclear subs plying our oceans as well.

Just waiting for frexit and Eu to fall apart. That would really make thing historical!! Something to tell our kids about..

For a start, Japan 2.0 is vaguely possible because China has already learnt some of Japan 1.0 lessons by (1) controlling capital inflow/outflows, and (2) resisting calls to appreciate its currency in the 2000s....While greed is a common denominator, but so far, don't see the Communist Party being part of the party on real estate....so any blow up has to be China 1.0.

The negotiation is tough with a fixed unfavorable timeline to UK. It is more so, without the trusts and supports from both sides of Brexit camps.

UK manufacturers urge PM May to drop threat of no Brexit deal
27 Mar 2017 07:18
[LONDON] Britain's manufacturers told Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday to drop her threat that she might take the country out of the European Union without a new trade deal, saying they would bear the brunt of trade barriers with the EU.

Mrs May plans to trigger the two-year Brexit process on Wednesday and she has warned the other 27 EU countries that no deal would be better than a bad deal.

"The idea of being able to walk away empty-handed might be a negotiating tactic, but it would in reality deliver a risky and expensive blow," Terry Scuoler, chief executive of EEF, Britain's manufacturing lobby, said.

"The rhetoric from the UK government needs to focus instead on achieving a deal that will work for the UK and the EU."

Mrs May has decided to make control over immigration her priority for Brexit, and has conceded that Britain must give up its membership of the EU's single market and customs union in order to achieve that.

In the absence of a deal, trade between Britain and the EU would default to World Trade Organization rules and tariffs.

British PM boycotts TV debate as election looms
01 Jun 2017 07:34
[LONDON] British Prime Minister Theresa May boycotted a primetime television debate Wednesday, just days before the June 8 general election, prompting accusations of a floundering campaign as polls slashed her ruling Conservative party's lead.

The pound wobbled overnight after a shock projection forecast that Mrs May - who had been on course for a landslide just a few weeks ago - could actually lose her majority in the House of Commons after next week's vote.

The odds of no-brexit has increased due to the "loss of control" by Theresa May. Having said so, I do not think it is good for UK to scrap Brexit. The rejoining of Britain into EU is likely going to be on less favorable grounds due to the loss of bargaining power. There would likely be many onerous clauses as the EU would not want to appear weak nor does it want to encourage the rest of the EU members to consider leaving.

To summarise, UK is likely to face very tough challenges ahead and large disruptions to their economy. It would definitely be a good place to look for bargain hunters as either way forward is filled with pitfalls.
