There have been news everywhere that RedMi 2 will be manufactured by Longcheer, but I think we have a much clearer answer now. The rumour about 5.5inch RedMi 2 is actually RedMi Note will coming into market very soon. It was only believed that RedMi Note's ODM is Longcheer despite no official confirmation from both companies.

RedMi, the one launched in Singapore, was indeed manufactured by another China ODM Wingtech.

Missed reporting date of results? Ask for extension? Co is supposed to report results by end may.

It was already announced weeks earlier, and it is not necessary to have trading halted for reason of extension. Negative news could be a default, positive could be m&a. Obviously I prefer the latter as I have vested interests, hope everything alright.

Though nothing concluded at the moment, market seems to reacted positively as the price surge to 31c in early trades. My personal view is that the prospects of smartphone ODM business in China is quite positive. Following the success of XiaoMi, many other smartphones brands like Acer, Asus and HTC are now look to ODM instead of manufacturing themselves. (source)
