(If you turn on today Sunday Times' obituary page, there is an obituary on a former MP with former parliamentary colleagues in it. One name is missing..... This is POLITICS.....)

This letter shows that in 2011 to 2013, the fees at the Pasir Ris-Punggol TC were $6.11, $6.20 and $6.25 each year. The fees for commercial properties was even higher at $11.50. With inflation, you would expect this figure to continually increase for 2014 as this was also the trend for the previous three years

I have edited the title 'MANAGING AGENT FOR PAP TC DROPS FEES JUST BEFORE THE ATTACK ON WP FOR "EXPENSIVE" FEE' to 'Managing Agent for PAP TC Drops Fees Just before the Attack on WP for "Expensive" Fee'

To standardize the title.
Thanks.

1. CPF contribution ceiling increase from $5k to $6k
2. Up to 6% interest for the first $30k for 55 yo and above people
3. Increase in CPF contribution rate for people 50 yo and above
4. Increase SRS contribution ceiling to $15,300

Cheers!!

I hope you all realize that if wasn't for Roy Ngerng who blew the lid off this matter, we would most likely not have enjoyed this increase in CPF returns.

Thank you Roy!

What did Roy blow anyway? Can help me to recall?

The higher 6% interest is only for the first $30k. Nonetheless i think their timing is really bad that gives credence to Roy's half truths. The Lee Jr govt style is much more accommodative if we compare the styles of the past 2 PM, but politically makes more sense to adjust after a period of time to deter speculation

The other aspect is govt going to put SWF PnL into budget instead of just the dividend IMHO is a very bad move. It will just increase volatility of the budget and increase demand for short term performance as it becomes a revenue generator. If we recall prior to the elected Prez, SWF was separate from the budget even for dividends.

Roy is not even a fly on PAP radar. Minds can be shaped by marketing or propaganda. If whole day consider here scared there, Govt will end up reactive rather than proactive.

Anyway this is a election budget to sweeten the ground. I doubt WP will gain any GRC or single wards in the next election. after their lousy mgt of Aljunied GRC.
A little off topic, but if u purely followed the mainstream media on the ahpetc saga, I think there is a lot of politicking going on behind. My friend is living in the grc and no complaints about the management. Couple that with 1. The sudden reduction of pap tc fees prior to parliament, and 2. Pap seeking to constitutionalize taking MPs to court, I think it is quite obvious why WP chose to leave the fight for another day.

As MP Pritnam Singh alluded, he would explain to the residents rather than in parliament. (no, I do not believe there is unfettered chance for debate in Parliament without getting sued for saying the wrong things, contrary to what is being written)

I have to humbly disagree with the remarks about answering to residents.

How is WP going to do this? Go door to door and whisper to residents? If not, what can be a better platform than free reporting from Parliament to reach out to all residents (me included)?

Mr Pritam Singh probably forgotten his oath Tongue

3. Oath as Member of Parliament.
I, ............................................. , having been elected as a Member of the Parliament of Singapore, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully discharge my duties as such to the best of my ability, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Republic of Singapore, and that I will preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore.

Next time must think then say...hehe..

What audit chk !...Methink that PAP already knew all abt the mismanagement of Aljunied GRC many yrs ago. They choose to fire it now so that there will be no reaction time for WP.

I just find it strange how can LTK make this type of mistake?

lastly...
Roy is a joke. People actually give him money?

My point was that some of the things he would say in parliament land him in legal trouble. He seems to be alluding that there is no fair way to discuss this further without getting sued.

Notice that the media coverage on the issue is very heavy polarised in favour of pap. I think a good 10+min was given to pap ministers to speak (on national ch 8 & ch u) On wp remarks, they were basically summarized by the news reporters.. When they showed snippets of wp speaking, it was on their "weaknesses". I know none the better of the actual situation due to the partisan coverage.

Lets see the results of the next election. The electorate does not lie.

I nearly fell off my chair when i heard him said that in parliament. As a politician, thats the most stupid answer one can ever give.

Essentially he is saying that he doesnt hv to ans to anyone because chances are the residents dont ask and there is nothing to ans for. Then why do the residents need him? Any tom, dick or monkey can do the job.....

Perhaps this is the type of politician that supporters of the opposition wants...... LOL!!!

I think the residents would ask contrary to what u said.

Anyway, this is off topic, let's focus back on CPF. Cheers.

I cannot imagine what he has to say, with parliamentary privilege mind you, that will still get him in legal trouble.

Very convenient indeed.
