In life there are many dichotomies. (aka also grey areas). But you can't live your life in it that way (aka BLACK & WHITE only). MONEY & POLITICS will never be separated. If you can't adapt or accept you will have a lot of problems for yourself and people around you. And people in this forum.
i was into dichotomy thinking in the past. i think i will be at times. Human weakness ma!-Habits died hard you know!
Must be very careful especially when at times, you have to call a spade, a spade and not a fork.
WB:-

1) Rule # 1, do not lose money.
2) Rule # 2, refer to # 1.
3) Not until you can manage your emotions, you can manage your money.

Truism of Investments.
A) Buying a security is buying RISK not Return
B) You can control RISK (to a certain level, hopefully only.) But definitely not the outcome of the Return.

NB:-
My signature is meant for psychoing myself. No offence to anyone. i am trying not to lose money unnecessary anymore.

All I have seen is some people are unhappy that they cannot vent and call other forumers and the government names like some other places you have elsewhere on the net. And when they are challenged to stand their ground and state their reasons, they provide nothing more than generalities and wave arms about how they are victimised, silenced or "moderated".

Singapore only 49 yrs old this year, but CPF already shifted the goal post so much that it is perceived that we will never get back our money...

Increasing the minimum sum is necessary due to higher life expectancy and raising medical cost. These are 2 macro trends that will occur regardless. Unless you have a way to stop the upwards sloping graphs on both trends, then do share. I am sure many people will be keen to hear your ideas.
There are no good stocks. Stocks are only good when they go up after you bought them.
I think with 10 pages under this thread I think it's about time someone say let's agree to disagree. This country is going to the dumps and here we are still bickering over this and that, truth and lies, facts and fiction. I think it's best that we stick to what VB forum is best for, which is to share investing ideas and help one another. I think this thread should be locked already.
Not yet lah. I'm still waiting for piggo to share what he got from CPF. Wink

Friend - in a more balanced and mature environment, there are generally two camps to most thoughts. People state their views and arguments, they consider each other points and at the end of the day agree, or agree to disagree. This is VB for most parts.

If you come from a place where you get to shout as loud as you want in a manner as abusive as you choose to and for most parts go unchallenged, this place will look like a communist regime where dissent against whatever is not accepted.

Haha... patience!

Anyway for those who're really unhappy or value the freedom to adopt mistresses with CPF monies, switching your passport to other countries (except Malaysia) will allow you to withdraw your CPF in full.

So it's a good idea to contribute to CPF (medisave for highest interests + tax rebate) to the cap every year as part of your "fixed income", then convert to a citizenship of your choice.

That way, govt. is relieved of all liabilities... u get all your money back and odds are your host country have much better social benefits. Win-win.

EDIT: @egghead: Oh I've actually checked with CPF some time back and it is a viable plan

In a debate, each side will present their view, might be biased, but it shouldn't be viewed as "regardless whether right or wrong", unless it is proven.

All views are welcome, but not for baseless accusation.

Please provide ground on the statement.

suppression of the "negative" not voice nothing to do with moderators but some who are not even moderators are trying act as moderator.

Your view is negative for those disagree, and vice versa.

I didn't see the "suppression", but disagreements. If you has seen your views are "suppressed", then should I say you also "suppressed" others' views?

If a view is fallacious, feel free to "hantam" (a Malay word meaning to beat or hit) within the posting guidelines, but be prepared to be "hantam" too.

At the end of day, if nothing change, than we will agree to disagree. Doesn't it sound fair?

I will close the moderation. I am sure you do appreciate my point, as a senior VB buddy.

Thanks
