Mr Tan, who was Chief Operating Officer, takes over today from Mr Neil Montefiore, who oversaw a 30 per cent increase in the company’s share price last year.

it may become something which starhub can boast of. I was just checking on Wikipedia, this technology may be useful if you want to listen songs over the phone.

I think this means I would have to start listening to Mrs. RBM nagging at me with even greater clarity. I think I'll stick with SingTel.

No Vested (in either StarHub or SingTel)

ha..ha.. it seems a negative value to consumer like Mr. RBM. I am glad SingTel retains another customer.

(vested in SingTel, but not StarHub)

So long as it pays quarterly dividend of $0.05. The share price is likely to hover around $4.

Not below BV = not a value counter. More of a dividend & defensive counter.

It has gained around 33% in one year. I agree that the it wont go up much. But that was what people were saying 1 year back.

I hope so too. This is possible as long as it is able to sustain and increase its EPS and DPS.

One of the smart move of Starhub, focus on commercial customers instead of residential customers. It will delay cannibalizing its cable infrastructure while increasing profit.Big Grin

Well, wonder how much it will help the bottom line?

StarHub to implement 1-min minimum charge for local calls

SINGAPORE — From next month, StarHub customers who make calls lasting less than a minute will have to pay more than what they are paying now. The telco will implement a “one-minute minimum charge” for local calls from May 1. After the first minute, talk time will be billed on a per-second basis.

Regardless of the actual talk time, each call lasting less than a minute will be charged 16.05 cents — the same flat fee that rival telco SingTel charges for the first minute of outgoing calls. The third telco, M1, charges outgoing calls on a per-second basis.

Currently, a StarHub customer would be charged about 8 cents for a 30-second call, for instance, compared to 16.05 cents which he will have to pay under the new billing method. Nevertheless, with the change, customers will not experience higher charges for calls lasting more than a minute.
