This is about 30% increase. Think current car owners will complain more traffic jam.
i think not much different as COEs are from scrap cars.

Well, there are always two sides to a coin.
But " the same type of rice raises up a hundred types of different people”.

Have you ever seen a hamster running in a cage that can keep on rolling.
Remind me of this old song too:-

"Big wheels keep on rolling,
Proud Mary keeps on burning
Rolling, rolling, rolling on the reefer"

Some of us already like the hamster, can not stop running.
Some of us listening to this song everyday to live through the day.

Peace within self is indeed a very prize possession which money & time can not buy.
Peace is definitely worth to cultivate everyday.
You can lost her so many times in a day; in the many moments of anxiety, anger, envy, fear, greed, things don't go your way, etc..
Peace is definitely worth to cultivate everyday.
Shalom.

Two main dislikes when going out 1) Car anyhow Honk 2) Ppl Tsk! you when walking pass you.

A short honk means differently to different individual. The meaning can be "excuse me, I am coming..." or "siam, don't block my way...".

I always took the former most of the time. Big Grin

IIRC, the former is the meaning of short honk in most countries, may be not in Singapore.

I dont understand why it is necessary to horn in the first place, especially in built up areas such as carparks or internal housing estate roads. If a motorist can horn it means whatever is happening,is visible. In which case the vehicle is equipped with breaks, so why not brake?.. the vehicle is made of metal and can cause injury even at 5kpmh.

Use the brakes please.

Using the horn is impolite and is a way of asserting presence.. and to some it means asserting power. These are sensitive times... people do not like to be told what to do, particularly in public places and worse if you are a motorist. Cars are expensive here and using the horn just implies that you want to be recognised that you can afford the vehicle... that is the impression that pedestrians perceive.

We end up like India where using the horn is encouraged.. they even paint " please horn" on the rear of taxis, buses and private vehicle.

i see it differently. A short horn or very light horn may be a reminder to jay walker to treasure his well being. Life is more precious than anything. Besides do not take for granted all drivers are 100% alert behind the wheel all the time. Who can deny it? If so there will be no accident in this world.
It may be a wake up call before you find it too late in heaven.

Why don't they just build the car with two types of horns: one for emergency and one for cautious alerting. Save people the trouble of guessing the driver's attitude.

As the famous saying goes, those who had bought their COE cheap will get it cheap again.
Those who bought at top of COE cycle will get it at top of cycle again...
