Dear buddies,
Rest assured that moderators will not ban as wish or lightly.
First of all, thanks for the supports. I read all of them. I am busy today, so I am not able to post the reason in a timely manner after the ban. My apologies.
Next is the reason. Offensive statements are disallowed, both in open posts, as well as private messages. Felix sent a very offensive private message. In fact offensive is an understatement, it is full of vulgar words. I am surprised.
I clarified with him, he replied with a short message ended with "just ban me if u like, i dun care".
I appreciate Felix contribution, but his behaviour means he has no interest to continue with VB. After a short discussion among moderators, we granted the ban.
Let's move on.
Thanks

Dear moderator, thumb up, support. I feel this guy thinks just by making some quick good monies out of his challenger/valuetronic that he is superior looking at others down from a ivory tower. besides banning him, suggest moderator also remove his past unreasonable ratings on others' reputation score.
It seems that pp here are concerned about "reputation score". I believe Felix in a way is upset because he talk down on some stocks and pp gave him a -ve score. May i suggest pp can only give +ve reputation but are not allowed to give -ve reputation. Only Moderators are allowed to give -ve score. What do u all think?

I think so too. He might have been angry with the -ve score.

We should not be too bothered with the reputation points. Look at mine. I have the lowest rating in VB, but I am feeling fine. Smile

Hi CityFarmer,

Can you reconsider your decision? Felix has been a good member and his views in his public posts are not rude and provide good diversity.

I don't what is the PM between you and him, but sometimes when things turn emotional or personal, he may not mean what he said at the point of time.

Thank you for your reconsideration.

I second that.

If a decision is based on a PM, then it's closer to being personal.

The decision wasn't taken lightly.

First of all, the content of PM was overly done. It might be the most disgusting message I saw.

Next, the PM was not between Felix and me, but between Felix and one of our buddy.

Last and least, I believe in 2nd Chance. I had given Felix a 2nd chance to repent, but Felix insisted, and showed no single sign of regret.

I appreciated Felix contribution, but it doesn't mean he can do as he wishes, and we should tolerant the disgusting behaviour.

One last message, since Felix doesn't with VB anymore. I suggest no more criticism on him and his posts. It is very unfair to him.

The ban is final, and the decision has the votes of all moderators in VB.

Thanks

Good Morning Moderator CityFarmer.

PM=Private Message. Just curious, if I pm someone, Moderator can read the message too?

The pm was forwarded by the buddy to moderators. If he didn't, we would not know what happened. The moderators cannot read your pm.

We will not ban members as wish or lightly, but hostility and offensive vulgar words are not allowed in the forum.

Since we have explained the reason and the decision is fixed, I think I'll just close the thread. Thanks.

Just to add to Cyclone's and Cityfarmer's post as well as add clarity to the issue (although I think Cyclone and Cityfarmer have been more than open and transparent on the issue).

1) Felix wasn't banned because of any of his posts on the forum. He sent a vulgar and offensive PM to a member who then fwded the msg verbatim to us for our necessary action (if any).

2) Cityfarmer and Cyclone verified (and attempted to clarify) the contents of the msg with Felix before deciding action.

3) Felix's reply was unrepentant and unapologetic. We probably wouldn't have banned him if he apologised to the said member and acknowledged that the PM was sent in a moment of rashness or anger.

4) The decision to ban him was a unanimous decision by the three moderators. I assure all buddies (and those who have been here long enough will testify) that we do not deal a heavy hand unless postings (and in this case, PMs) have been hostile and uncivil.

I hope this clears things up.
