ceo/md kua boon wee accept receipt of scrip dividend (credited as fully paid at S$0.85 per share). In the same vein, I am delighted to also accepted the scrip dividend instead of cash.

with regards to the formula to calculate the no of scrip shares, does anyone know if it should be roundup or rounddown for fractional shares. I recall reading in this forum that it should be roundup.

I'm getting 2 different calculations from my shares in CDP and Standard Chartered (SCB). CDP is giving me a roundup treatment and SCB is giving me a round down.

I have looked thru the MTQ announcements but I cannot find any explanation on the fractional shares treatment.
If it's roundup, is there a document from MTQ that explains the formula. I would need it if I'm to approach SCB regarding their calculation.

for those with SCB and have opted for scrip, pls check thru your account for the scrip shares

SCB is wrong - I believe it should be rounded up as I had accepted scrip 4 times and it was always rounded up. Perhaps you can check with SCB again.

I think the document would be the scrip election form, of which I do not have a soft copy to attach here. You can check the form to see if there is rounding up or not.

Is it possible the number of new scrip was round up at the nominee account level but when SCB assigned to the individual clients, there was insufficient number of new scrip to round up?

I am not a SCB share account user, so I am just guessing.

Most likely, since there is only 1 round up per nominee account and all the SCB account holders are under one nominee acount. From MTQ point of view, there is only one shareholder.
It probably happens to CPF nominee account too.

So.. only one lucky fellow got the full allocation.

Mamma mia! MTQ actually hit $1.20 - a new high! - this afternoon. Based on the latest outstanding 100,167,851 issued shares, MTQ's market cap. now stands at $120.2m.

Against its lastest (as at 30Sep12) NAV/share at $0.9986, Mr Market is now attaching a 20% premium over the counter's underlying nett assets/share at BV. Based on its 1H's (ended 30Sep12) EPS of $0.1077 - from which we can derive by simple extrapolation a full-year EPS of $0.2154 - Mr Market is now attaching a PER of approx. 5.6x to MTQ.

Based on the above parameters, it does appear there is still room for Mr Market to lift MTQ higher towards its justified fair value as a growing business group.

Mamma mia! MTQ just hit $1.285 - another new high! - this afternoon.

If we believe the group's businesses should be worth at least $150.0m, then each MTQ share should have a fair value of at least $1.50 in a potential privatization offer.
