May I ask how much of the 6.6 cents of NAV is more down-to-earth cash like? (11-06-2013, 11:37 PM)Big Toe Wrote: Ipco, used to be another darling of days gone by.Look at what the NAV consists of, if it's NAV 6.6cts with 5cts cash component,
please buy all you can. But it's not.
It is standard practise for energy/utility providers to count chickens before they hatch and have high NAVs.
(Intangible asset/goodwill, they think it's there so they put a value to it.) .

perhaps you may turn all the financial assets on its balance sheet into cash by buying over those "undervalued" financial assets
I'm quite used already to investors here booing my picks but when they later go parabolic all have kept quiet or quietly go back in and buy

So far my assumptions on this stock pretty correct around 70% I suspect more time is needed for what I think is the bigger picture to pan out.

I hope I'm right in my assumptions I have over 4000 lots in this, small by no means when compared to other big time speculators but putting it where my mouth is.

To summarise, IPCO is trading at 1.9c today, if you believe in what you have so strongly advocated, time for you to put more money into where your mouth is. All the best to your portfolio.

As for people who were skeptical about its beautiful story, sometimes it pays to be skeptical.

huang, Welcome to VB.

it's very difficult to be 100% into value investing.
most of the time, you just sit there and do nothing.

so, for me, to balance my emotions and itchic finger, I have a certain pool/sum of money that allow me to take greater risks beyond value investing.

May be you could share how you could tahang the itch?

Wow! 4000 lots. Now only trading at 0.8 cents. From below 3 cents to 0.8 cents is > 70% lost.

Agree with you that we have the tendency to trade instead of buy and hold. For me, I will stop checking the market price for at least a while. Remember end 2008, I had made some investment but the market went down even more, I even stop reading newspaper and watching TV news.
