Against the original cost of investment of only $125k (obtained from p49 of BBR's latest FY13 AR), BBR has done very well in this investment.

Adding to the above, today (30Jul14) BBR announced the disposal of an excess industrial property located at 18 Sungei Kadut Street 4, Singapore 729046, for $4.2m cash and the disposal will also realise a gain of $2.88m…..

BBR stands to book a total gain of $5.135m in Q3/Q4 from the above 2 disposals, which should raise FY14's EPS by approx. $0.0168/share.

All the signals are good, so I have gone in to buy at 29 cents. I believe the intrinsic value of this stock is much more than that. Thanks for sharing your analysis.

Why is there a huge queue at $0.285? If I'm a serious investor who's looking to accumulate, I wouldn't mind paying a bit more because the further upside is secured (in my opinion)and I get to secure my lots ahead?

Curiousparty, you mean it current NAV? $0.4256 according to Shareinvestor.com. Using the method described in Robert Montgomery's book "Value-able", I calculated the intrinsic value to be at least twice its NAV, but there is some subjectivity involved as you've got to decide on values for certain parameters such as Investor Rate of Return (shown in his book). Hope it helps.

Kelvesy, maybe these guys want to buy but are not willing to pay more than 0.285. I've been looking at this counter over the last month or so, and if I had committed earlier, I might have gotten it for 27.5 cents, but I (cheapskate) wanted it to come down by a further half a cent, so didn't get to buy. Now, I pay 29 cents! That's life; can't win them all.

For me I queue at 28.5 cents each day and at the same time buy some at 29 cents. I believe no harm trying my luck to queue some at 28.5 cents especially for counters with low volume. There might be someone who is holding "large amount" and is waiting for "huge buy volume" to sell his shares "one mouth". I tried before for some counter with low volume, you queue 100 lots, no one sell, but if you queue 1000 lots, you get all of it.

I noticed a downward trend in its NPM - due to rising costs and tightening of labour (high manpower costs).

1QFY2014 - 3.6%; 2QFY2014 - 2.7%

After recognising profits from its property development segment, moving forward, would its profit suffer a sudden drop?

(Adminstrative Costs + Other Operating Costs + Finance Costs) / Revenue = 2.8% which is lower than 4.3% in 1QFY2014.

Cash continues to grow and debt continues to drop.

Debt: FY2012 - $59mil; FY2013 - $55.9mil; Q1FY2014 - $50.6mil; Q2FY2014 - $48.1mil

I noticed the management created a new subsidary to focus on green technology. In my opinion, it is a smart move to diversify their revenue streams and they could leverage on their lasting relationshipd with statutory boards to secure contracts. Furthermore, the world is moving towards green buildings and there is growth in this industry.

BBR did some notable projects in the past such as Sengkang LRT, Ministry of Foreign Affairs HQ Complex, PUB Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, People's Association HQ and Industrial Ring Road (Thailand), Putrajaya Bridge 8 (Malaysia)

Still not vested, want to look deeper
