With rising cost of commodities from sand to rare earths to metals what do you think is the cost of producing 5 cents these days?
I have a hobby and that is hoarding any and all 5 cents and 1 cents which I can find, it's a cheap hobby for obvious reasons. I keep them stored a plastic container that used to hold a wine bottle, that container nearly full already. I also collect old singapore coins whenever I come across any.
The value of 5 cents will always be 5 cents but the cost to the state to produce them may have gone up plenty already
