Hi can I check the following:

1) Looking at just FY11 and FY12, Dir fees out of NP account for 26% (2011) and 18% (2012). Looks like they are paying themselves rather well, as a comparison to other firms that I have seen.

2) High div rate, but I did not see a consistent positive CF from operations. Just looking at last 3 years, only FY12 was positive and FY10-11 was negative. Can the dividends be sustained? Assuming management takes all in script dividend, the minority shareholders will continue to be diluted in such a case?

Appreciate if you can help with my queries. Thanks!

as an investor holding several million taisin shares, i can tell u script benefit me greatly. its a way of the company printing money if u allow me to call it. the last two scrips were at 16c n 21c. u dun find the shares trading at that level. my new share are now wirth much more than if i get cold hard cash. and this compounds the feb-march dividend.
lim kim hai is a trused brand n in existence for 60yrs. tomy knowledge there was never a loss year.
scrip is a way of preserving cash n increasing lim hold onto taisin n lim kim hai

Dear paullow,

Having subscribed to the late script-dividend myself (and for the first time) I am still waiting for my new script-emitted shares. Lately, my broker (european) told me that they would be credited to my account around mid-february. I have seen nothing about this on the Tai sin communication.
Could you confirm me that in Singapore, investors got their shares duly credited aroung 24-26 December 2012, as I understand it should have been ?

(I suspect someone is using freely those shares for this time, lending them perhaps to would-be shorters and so on...)

Thank you very much in advance for your reply

They are paying themselves well. No doubt about it.
As a consequence one can assume there is not much cash left over to support a generous dividend. How else to explain the rationale for scrip dividend.

i know bobby n jenny for decades as they are my classmate parents. they are very nice n frugal pple. willing to spend on necessary things but not waste money on extravagant items. thats also how the company is run.
they are v careful abt where their money goes.

I like this stock, climb slowly but steadily 一步一脚印. Somehow, it is a reflection of the prudent and careful management style of Bobby Lim and son.
