yes, US can print its way out, but will any country continue to accept USD as a reserve currency or inter-country trading currency if US does print its way out?

Well, if this is the criteria. I think US will get AAAA.
What is the alternative reserve currency now?
Euro?
RMB?
Yen?
Pound?
Can't be S$... our print press is too small.
Unfortunately, US dollar is still the safest reserve currency on this planet.
So, the rest of planet, until they figure out the next reserve currency or whatever, has to suck thumb and stock up US dollar.

Personally, I think it is relatively unwise to keep too much cash in this era.

one way is like for China & Singapore, they can choose to settle using RMB or SGD for China & Japan, they can choose to use RMB or YEN. as long as it is not through USD, the reserve currency status of USD will slowly diminish.

Now praying for a ultra technical rebound !!!

betting of technical rebound, why not buy CityDev?

CityDev bounces much higher than crapland.

CityDev now 10.04 -0.05, but CapitaLand 2.54 -0.13

Just did a quick scan through all counters looking for green, because I think if a counter can remain green today, it must have some inherent strength. Excluding Gold etf, put warrents and ADRs, I declare the strongest is Haw Par (+6 cents), followed by our forumers' favourite vicom (+4 cents).

Well said, Yeo san.
Some so called wise investor are selling stock and keep cash...they are timing for a property crash...think big.

But, had a small discussion with some of my ppty investor buddies and was told not so easy for ppty to be affected by current US printing of money (expected QE3 soon) and Europe debt woe...well i mean current stock market mini crash, and market will be bad for a while... it a short term psychological sell off it response the US credit rating down graded.

Rental still enough to cover loan...Unless interest rate hike, will interest rate increase if US contd to print money? i doubt...nor matter which directions they take it confirmed USD will fall either ways and this time round is deep falls.

So i think there will be another round of hard asset inflation and commodities price will surge too (start from Thai rice)....tomolo you wake up a plate of wantanmee will cost u $4 soon...btw, transport fare confirmed up, wat next?...your guess is as good as mine.....

I have found a safest solution to hedge Inflation, liao......not ppty hor.
