It is not the news catch my attention, but the fact that technology had obsoleted the need of a professional photographer in news reporting.
Is the same happen in Singapore, in SPH?
Chicago newspaper lays off entire photo staff
LOS ANGELES — The Chicago Sun-Times laid off its entire photography staff yesterday (May 30) morning in a shift toward utilising more video in its reports.
At least 20 photographers were laid off, according to multiple reports, with the Chicago Tribune reporting that 28 full-time staffers got their pink slips, effective immediately.
