Caller: If we buy a bottle of purified water and offer it to Bodhisattva, after which we bring it with us when we perform liberation of captive lives to be sprinkled on the fish before they are released. By doing so, will it enhance the blessings to the fish? Also, will the fish reincarnate as animal of a larger size?
Master Jun Hong Lu: In actual fact, just by sprinkling some water will not have any significant effect. However, it is the thought that counts. Should Bodhisattva or Dharma Protectors offer their blessings, these fish will live on well. In my opinion, by applying this method, you will receive boundless beneficence; even more so if this method is practised by many others. I should say you have great level of wisdom in this aspect. I am touched by this. Take for example, when the Great Compassion water is poured into the bucket of fish before they are taken out to be liberated, the fact that it has been blessed with the Mantra, it will infuse the Buddha nature of Bodhisattva into these fish. As a result, they will be more lively and active, as they could sense the merciful and compassionate energy field of Bodhisattva. This is absolutely true.
